The Shifting Tides by Sophie Kenna
"Ella ran her fingers over the envelope carefully clutched in her hands, her heart racing."

I'm still on the fence with Sophie Kenna's Marina Cove series. What these sisters and their mom go through is unbelievable. So much happens in each book, some still unresolved, that it's hard to believe any family is that unlucky. It's time for the characters to get a break IMO.
Ella is trying to figure out what's going on with Leo and why he's become so withdrawn. A visit to his sister is hoped to bring answers.
Charlotte's still waiting for her soon-to-be ex-husband to sign the papers. He has one more favor to ask of her, however, and she's not sure she has one more favor to give.
Ramona's hoping that her happily ever after has arrived, but her boyfriend's ex doesn't seem willing to give up.
That leaves Diane, who is trying to figure out her next steps, and it looks like she'll be staying in Marina Cove.
I don't love this series. Some of the characters annoy me; Diana is one of them. Others, I wish would grow a backbone. Yet, through my annoyance, I feel compelled to keep reading and see how it all ends. I admit I'm hooked, even though I don't love everyone in the story.
