I started this series last year and never intended to keep going, yet I find myself needing the resolution. You do have to read the books in order, as they do end with some issues unresolved.

In The Last Letters, the story of sisters Charlotte and Ramona Keller continues as they decide to uncover the truth about their dad's disappearance. Saving their family inn remains a key aspect of the story, too.

I never intended to keep reading, as the lack of backbone with any of the family members niggles at me. The continued bad luck, after bad luck, after bad luck is frustrating. They all have clear goals, but they take their sweet time making things happen or changing their circumstances. I expected some conflict, but I also expect growth, and I'm not seeing it yet.

Despite that complaint, I am drawn to this coastal town and its people. I am continuing into book 3 to see if some of the things I want to see resolved are finally wrapped up. I expect I'll keep going as book 4 continues to tell their mom's story. From there, it looks like there are several other books. Hopefully, they'll wrap up with book 7.
