I love a good thriller and this one sounded promising. Casey lives alone after being fired from her teaching job. She's in a remote area, content enough to be on her own, but the cabin she rents is not in the best shape.

With a fierce storm moving in, she's worried that her roof won't make it and the tree in the yard is going to topple. What she never expects is to find a bloodied young girl in the shed in her yard, and that girl could be more dangerous than the roof, tree, and storm combined.

I wish I'd loved this book, but Casey was weak. Plain and simple, she made some of the most ridiculous mistakes through the night that left me thinking she kind of deserved whatever happened in the end.

That said, there are a couple of twists. I also felt compelled to see how it all played out. That alone makes it a book I cannot completely say I disliked. It had strong moments and a few week ones, but it was one I did want to finish.
